 National Skills Foundation of India (NSFI) is a non-profit organisation engaged in building livelihoods in a sustainable manner through the implementation of large-scale development interventions . It offers research-based policy recommendations, takes up skill development initiatives, promotes entrepreneurship, aids in project implementation through market-based models and also incubates organisations and individuals.

Entrepreneurship Development

Entrepreneurship plays a very important role in the country’s economic development, as entrepreneurs act as catalysts for economic growth and inclusive growth.

Skill Development

Skills and knowledge are looked at as driving forces behind the economic growth of any country.Thus, NSFI is working on skill development towards tangible impact.

Market Driven Development

Success of any intervention is a function of its sustainability and alignment with prevailing market dynamics. NSFI is carving out models that are integrated into existing markets.

SECTORS WE OPERATE IN

Agri and Allied Sectors:

Agriculture and its allied sector have been the mainstay of the Indian economy and  principal means of livelihood for more than 45% of households. NSFI is working towards creating self employement with tangible increase in incomes.

Handicrafts

There are 43.32 lakh weavers and 68.86 lakh crafts persons in India, with majority of them coming from rural areas. NSFI is working towards skill development and value chain integration of handicraft communities.

Renewable Energy

Impending dangers of climate change necessitate mitigation measures to overcome the ill effects. NSFI is building innovative market based models in the sector for lasting impact.

Water & Nutrition

In the prevailing situations of country’s water scarcity, necessity to produce more for growing population, NSFI is working in efficient water use scenarios and innovative nutrition models.

PARTNERSHIPS FOR SECTOR SKILL COUNCIL ON AGRICULTURE

NSFI is the lead promoting organization for setting up Sector Skill Council on Agriculture ie. Agriculture Skill Council of India under the banner of National Skill Development Corporation. Govt Institutions Partnership: Industry Bodies Participation: Other 22 Leading Corporates and Industry Stake holders have also given consent for SSC.

ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING ON “EVOLVING SPACE OF TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS IN AGRICULTURE HELD ON 31ST AUGUST AT INDIA INTERNATIONAL CENTRE

An Advisory Council Meeting followed by a Round Table Meeting was held by National Skills Foundation of India (NSFI) at India International Centre, New Delhi on 31st July, 2017 with the key stakeholders of Indian Agriculture – Policy Leaders, Executives and Representatives from The Embassies, Bilateral and Multilateral Agencies, Civil Society, Government and the Private Sector.
